A four pack!

Wow, have I ever let things slide, and I do apologize to any of you who like to "follow" my progress along with me. I just find it hard to be motivate to give an update when there is a ton of text and a lack of pictures or even video. I wish I could solve that problem, but frankly I can't, I can only get photo's should Kate be up for coming to a race. I am not saying it is her fault, because I do not want to force her to come to races, but rather providing an explanation for a lack of pictures. Anyhow, onto the race updates.

Tuesday, August 19th

I can't really recall this race as a week has gone by, and during that week I have raced three other times. If I am correct, I believe I finished in 3rd place in the main, and for the life of me, I can not remember who I raced against. I am thinking it may have been a total points race between Simon, Vincent, and myself, so a 3rd place finish was a given.

Saturday, August 23rd

Now this was a double points race as well as our Provincial Qualifiers. Essentially anybody who races this event gets district double points, but at the same time they qualify for being able to win the Provincial Title. The Provincial Finals are the final weekend in September.

There was a good turnout, but neither Vincent or Simon showed up, I guess they have lives outside of BMX. I brought home a HUGE trophy as I finished in 2nd place for the day. We are going to take pictures of it so that I can return it to the track as we just do not have the space for trophies, and I prefer "saver stamps".

Sunday, August 24th

This was a single points race that was scheduled to follow-up the double points race the day before. We had a smaller turnout with only seven motos for the morning/afternoon, there were a total of five riders in my moto.

With the transfer system how it was and the riders I was facing, I had no chance of qualifying in the first race, but I still ran it hard. The second race I took it easy to conserve energy as once again there was no chance in qualifying that round. the third race I put in more effort to take second place, which gave me a transfer to the main, I saw no need to battle John for first.

In the main I got a slow start, which seems to be happening lately, so I am not sure what is up with that. I went a huge portion around the track in 4th (last) and made an all or nothing break for it down the final stretch. With that push I was able to overtake the 3rd place rider at the finish line... barely, literally by a knob on my tire.

Tuesday, August 26th

Now this race on Tuesday didn't have a desirable finish, especially considering it was my birthday and all. Because of the lack of daylight now that summer is coming to an end, we changed to a two race transfer system rather than three for when we race on week nights. I conserved my energy during the first race as only the winner transferred to the main, and both Vincent and Simon were there. However that did very little as during the second and final chance to transfer I came in last, missing out on going to the main. It's been a while since I failed to make the main, so I guess it was only time.

Pictures will be posted shortly from Tuesday as Kate did come and took plenty of pictures.
